Daily Bread - October 8, 2018
Written by Pastor Mark Spitsbergen

Ephesians 4:14 - So that we are no longer children tossed by the waves and
carried about with every wind of doctrine by the trickery of men and craft
by which deceivers mislead.

Part 2 - Refuse the Propaganda and Believe What God Says!

The image here is of a ship with no rudder, and thus no governor. Hebrews
13:9 also warns the believer not to be "carried away with diverse and
strange doctrines." James 1:6 describes the unstable spiritual condition
more specifically as "... a wave of the sea driven with the wind and
tossed." In this verse, The Greek word translated "trickery" ('kubeia') is
from the root word 'kubos,' which refers to dice-playing. In the game of
dice playing, there are many tricks used to deceive the simple and
inexperienced; thus this word may apply to trickery, craft, or deceit.
Additionally, the "misleading" being addressed is the Greek word
'methodeia' derived from the word 'methodeuo,' which means "to follow," or
"to track," as a wild animal tracks its prey.

Refuse to believe the lies and propaganda of Satan! Turn away from all
those things contrary to the greatness of God, and prophesy those things
which God has spoken concerning you! The Holy Ghost will fill you with
Spirit-knowledge, and cause you to see what your eyes could not see before
(Ephesians 1:17-19; Colossians 1:9-10). Your relationship and walk with God
will result in the life of Christ being revealed in all His fullness -both
to you and through you (Ephesians 4:13; John 14:12; Hebrews 11:5-6).
Realize today that God is in you -that you are the darling of His heart
(Jeremiah 31:20), the jewel in His crown (Zechariah 9:16), the apple of His
eye (Zechariah 2:8), his precious treasure (Exodus 19:5; Deuteronomy 7:6),
and His inheritance (Ephesians 1:18). You are the temple of the Lord, with
rivers of living water flowing from your belly; and have been given the
authority of sonship as an heir of God and joint-heir with Christ (1
Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:19; 2 Corinthians 6:16; John 7:38, 1:12; Romans
8:17). The fellowship He demands is that you will believe that whatever you
ask, He will do (John 15:16; Mark 11:22-24; Matthew 7:7-8).

Now unto Him Who is able to do exceedingly above all that we ask or think!
(Ephesians 3:20)
