Daily Bread 2/27/2023

Daily Bread – February 27, 2023 (The Second Day – Genesis 1:6-8) 2 Chronicles 25:9 – And Amaziah said to the man of God, “But what shall we do for the hundred talents of silver which I gave to the army of Israel?” And the man of God said, “Yahoah is able to give you much more than this.” Making God Our Sole Trust God is looking for us to put all of our trust and confidence in Him and make Him the sole object of our trust (Jeremiah 17:5-8). He is a jealous God Who is not willing to be set alongside any other gods, nor is He willing to be just another alternative for provision and protection. Furthermore, God is not willing to bless any unholy alliances – those who will at the end of the battle say, “My own hand has gotten me the victory,” or at the end of the success say, “It was by our own wisdom and skill that we prospered.” The blessing and miracles of God must not be profaned by men receiving any of the glory of the honor for what God alone did with His own power and might – for He will not share His glory with another (Isaiah 42:8, 48:11; Exodus 34:14; Deuteronomy 4:24). If we are going to walk in the blessing of the Lord, then we must have a pure heart about seeking the things that will glorify God alone – and not another (John 5:44). If God is going to get all of the glory, then we are going to have to walk with Him through the fiery trials of faith and learn to not look to another for help. We are going to have to learn the walk and relationship that is purified of all self-reliance. Let us all be reminded that if we will trust in the Lord and rely only upon Him only, then He will do much more than we, or the mighty men of the Earth, can ever do for us. Take all anyone has ever done and realize today, “God is able to give you much more than this!” Blessings Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
