Daily Bread 3/7/2023

Daily Bread – March 7, 2023 (The Third Day – Genesis 1:9-13) Ephesians 4:20 – But you have not learned this from Christ. The Contrast Indeed a stark contrast is made between those who are taught of God and those who are of this world. Nobody has an excuse to be confused on this issue, for the fruits of the Spirit bear unmistakable evidence to those who are taught of God (Ephesians 5:9; Romans 6:22; Galatians 5:22-23). Anyone can say he or she is a Christian, but the fruits of our lives tell the true story (Matthew 7:16-20). Being taught of God is fundamental to the New Covenant, and spiritual fruit is the paramount evidence a person is being taught of God. It is Christ we have learned. We have not just learned about Him, but have received Him into our lives by the miracle of salvation. Due to having a changed nature, we now hunger for the things of the Spirit and walk in His righteousness and true holiness (Matthew 5:6; Ephesians 4:24). For just as we have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so we also walk in Him, and He in us (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:6; 1 John 2:6; Galatians 5:16, 25). The life and nature of Jesus that the born-again (born of the Spirit, born of God) person has received is the absolute opposite of the nature of those who live in sin and disobedience (John 1:12-13, 3:3-8; Ephesians 2:1-3, 4:17-19, 5:1-21; Galatians 5:16-25).
