Daily Bread – July 23, 2022 (The Seventh Day – Genesis 2:1-3) John 14:27 – I leave you Peace. My Peace I give to you. I give it to you not as the world gives it to you. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid. The Peace Of God It is an awesome thought to realize the Prince of Peace has given us His Peace (Isaiah 9:6). This is a Peace passing all understanding that commands every fear and worry to be silenced and every storm to be stilled (Philippians 4:7; Matthew 8:26; Luke 8:24). The Peace of God gives us the confidence and assurance that it is impossible for us to fail (Isaiah 30:15, 33:6; Jeremiah 29:11; Philippians 4:19; John 14:13-14). Peace is something that only comes from God and through Christ Jesus, and we have received it without measure (Job 25:2; Romans 1:7, 15:13; 1 Corinthians 1:3; 2 Corinthians 1:2; Galatians 1:3; Ephesians 1:2; and Philippians 1:2; Colossians 1:2; 1 Thessalonians 1:1; 2 Thessalonians 1:2; 1 Timothy 1:2; 2 Timothy 1:2; and Titus 1:4; Philemon 1:3; 2 John 1:3; Acts 10:36). One of the chief descriptions of God in the New Testament is He is a God of Peace (Philippians 4:9; Romans 15:33, 16:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:20). The Kingdom of God, of which we are a part, is a Kingdom of Peace (Isaiah 9:7; Romans 14:17). The good news of the New Testament we preach is a Gospel of Peace (Isaiah 52:7; Nahum 1:15; Romans 10:15). Power has been given to us in the Name of Jesus to proclaim Peace to every situation of life and to every person we encounter – both to those who are near to God and also those who are far away from Him (Isaiah 57:19; Ephesians 2:17; Luke 10:5-6; Matthew 10:13). We are to live under the rule of Peace and to be dominated by its effects, so it rules our hearts and minds – thus governing every thought (Philippians 4:7; Colossians 3:15; 2 Thessalonians 3:16). God has given us His Peace so we can be empowered against all fear that would attempt to overwhelm our hearts. If we are going to walk with God in the realm of faith, then we must not allow our hearts to be troubled, neither be afraid. This glorious Peace is the witness we are submitted to the realm of the Kingdom of God and under the rule of the Holy Spirit and government of Jesus (Galatians 5:22-23; Romans 14:17, 8:16; 2 Corinthians 1:22).
