Daily Bread – July 29, 2023 (The Seventh Day – Genesis 2:1-3) Matthew 13:19-23 – When anyone hears the Word of the Kingdom and does not understand it, the evil comes and steals what was sown in his heart – this is what was sown along the path. And that which was sown upon the rocky places is he who hears the Word and immediately receives it with joy, but has no root in himself and is temporary; and as soon as tribulation or persecution arises because of the Word, he is immediately offended. And that which was sown among thorns is he who hears the Word, and the cares of this life, and the deceitfulness of riches choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful. But that which was sown on the good ground is he who hears the Word and understands, and as a result, brings forth fruit – one a hundred, another sixty, and another thirty. The Word of God is the Word of the Kingdom. All faith and authority to operate in the Kingdom of God is found only in the Word of God. When we speak or act outside of the Word of God, we are operating outside of the Kingdom. However, if we will hold tightly to the Word of God and will be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, then the Word of the kingdom will work with power on the inside of us to bring forth all of the fruits of the Kingdom (1 Thessalonians 2:13; Romans 10:8,17; John 6:63). Everything in the natural world must obey the Word of God. The Word of God framed the universe and there is no higher realm of power and authority. The Word, Himself, became flesh and now dwells in those who believe, so that everything about our lives can be conformed to the ways of the Kingdom of God. If we will allow the Word of God to be the truth, and believe it as superior to all other observable things and natural laws, then we will step into a whole new reality and realm of glory. Many people think that those who trust in God are irrational. However, what they fail to realize is that which we call rational is based upon that which we have defined as reality. Furthermore, we define reality by what we believe to be the truth. If we will believe that God’s Word, the Word of the Kingdom, is true, then we will have a different reality defined to us than that which is believed by the world. Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
