Daily Bread – July 31, 2023 (The Second Day – Genesis 1:6-8) Joshua 1:8 – The book of this Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall recite from it day and night so that you will observe to do all that is written; for then you shall succeed in your ways, and then shall you succeed in all that you know. Living By God’s Word We have spent our lives thinking the wrong kinds of thoughts and speaking the wrong words. Now, if we are going to be the beneficiaries of all God has promised, then we must begin to live by His Word. Our hearts and minds must be retrained to think after the manner of reality and truth as it is defined by God. God will give us the proper insight when we observe His Word instead of the circumstances facing us. We must believe what God has spoken, and act on it no matter how impossible it may seem. We must be willing to come to the same resolve the second generation in the wilderness came to, and then be willing to obey God whether we live or whether we die. They were faced with impossible obstacles and fortified cities. Both the armies and natural elements standing in the way of their inheritance were more than they could possibly overcome – every rational perspective of things said they could not possibly succeed. Yet, the means of their success would rest in their willingness to completely submit to the Word of God and fill their mouth and heart with what He had promised. Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
