Daily Bread – September 3, 2022 (The Seventh Day – Genesis 2:1-3) 1 Corinthians 14:6 – And now, brethren, if I come to you speaking the language, which of you will benefit unless if I speak to you by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophecy, or by teaching. Revelatory Expressions There has been much confusion about the utterance of the language of the Spirit. Many good folks have some interesting preconceived ideas as to what an interpretation is supposed to look and sound like. Many believe there has to be a little space of silence, then suddenly, someone starts shouting, “Thus saith the Lord!” like the prophets of old. It does not have to work like that. The language of the Spirit brings revelation, knowledge, prophecy, and doctrine. There is a divine hook up in the gift of tongues, as was exemplified on the day of Pentecost and out of that flows the things the Holy Spirit would reveal as interpretation. When we define interpretation, it may extend beyond many peoples’ definitions. So everyone needs to just be a little more flexible and develop a sensitivity to what God is doing. We pray in the Spirit under the influence of the Holy Ghost to know what we are to speak and what we are to do. Through the activity of the Spirit, we are strengthened and built up to move in signs, wonders, and miracles.
