Email from Abiding Place     Daily Bread – April 21, 2025 (The Second Day – Genesis 1:6-8) Philippians 3:9-10 – And being found in Him, not having my own righteousness from the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, righteousness by the faith from God: To know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, to be conformed to His death, The resurrection of Jesus from the dead was the greatest and most glorious expression of Divine Power, second only to the Incarnation! Through God’s great love, we have been spiritually raised up together with Him from the death of sin unto the life of righteousness (Colossians 2:12, 3:1; Romans 6:4; Ephesians 2:6)! Paul’s response to having received the righteousness of God by the faith of Jesus Christ was the ability to now know Jesus in the power of His resurrection – the power that raised him up together with Christ Jesus in the inward man producing the life of Jesus in him (Philippians 3:9-10; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 1:27, 2:12, 3:1,10; Ephesians 1:3, 4:24). Paul’s affections were captivated by the heavenly life he was given in Christ Jesus (Colossians 3:1-4; Ephesians 1:3). The life of Christ, which he had received, compelled Him to set his whole life’s pursuit on knowing Christ Jesus and the power of both the inward resurrection he had received, and the future resurrection of his body which would be raised up in the same glory as that of Christ Jesus (Romans 6:5, 8:17-23; 2 Corinthians 4:16-5:8; 1 John 3:1-4). If we are to know Christ Jesus, then we must have His righteousness which produced our union with Him. We can only intimately know Him beyond mere mental assent by being first made like Him! This kind of righteousness was given to us in the new creation, and is the first expression of the power of the resurrection manifested in our lives. Now, having received the seal of the Spirit, we wait for the redemption of the body which shall be raised up like His glorious body (Ephesians 1:14; Romans 8:23; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 3:9; 1 John 3:2).
