Email from Abiding Place Daily Bread – August 6, 2025 (The Fourth Day – Genesis 1:14-19) Isaiah 55:7 – Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts – and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him and will abundantly pardon. Regardless of who you are, God calls out to everyone saying, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts – and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him and will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:7). The chief theme of the Gospel is repentance. God has made a way where there was no way. He has granted repentance unto life for all who will receive (Luke 24:47; Acts 11:18). There is no reason to be controlled by evil and destroyed by sin. Your thoughts do not have to be dominated and ruined by the harassing and tormenting influences of demon spirits and wicked men. The immorality and gross violations against your soul and all humanity can be broken off right now. You can begin to enjoy the sweet communion of the Holy Spirit and the pleasantness of His life. There are those who want God to receive them without any change of heart which results in a change of thinking and lifestyle. They have been deceived to believe they can have a relationship with Jesus while they continue on with their wickedness. However, this is far from being true – as far away as darkness is from light! Unfortunately, those who would believe and even teach such things have never tasted the pleasures and the goodness of this life of God. God cries out to us even as He did to ancient Israel saying, “…return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquities and their sin” (Jeremiah 36:3). God has not changed His mind, but demands us to turn from sin all the more in this New Covenant. The ways of wickedness and sin will never be accepted by a Holy God. He has provided a way to be made new, not a way to remain the same and yet be forgiven! The wages of sin is death, and the gift of eternal life is now available through Jesus Christ the Lord. You must be willing to accept this new and abundant life and forsake your wicked ways. The unholy thoughts of lust and iniquity must not be allowed. If you are willing, God will fill you with His own life and divine power. If you will forsake wickedness and sin, God will have mercy and abundantly pardon. Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
