Email from Abiding Place     Daily Bread – December 25, 2024 (The Fourth Day – Genesis 1:14-19) Matthew 1:18 – Now, the birth of Jesus the Christ was in this manner. When His mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they were joined together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s Role In Jesus’ Birth & Ours! The first mention of the Holy Ghost in the New Testament is discovered in His role in the birth of Christ Jesus. His work was not only essential to the conception of Jesus, but His work has been and will continue to be essential to the manifestation of Jesus (John 7:38-39, 14:26, 15:26, 16:12-15; Acts 1:8, 4:8,31; and 1 Thessalonians 1:5; Hebrews 2:4). Without the present work of the Holy Spirit, no one can be born again. It may be said that the Holy Ghost will come upon you, and you will become a new man. It is by the power of the Holy Ghost that we are all born of God when we call upon the Lord Jesus (John 1:13, 3:3-7; Titus 3:4-5; Galatians 6:15; 2 Corinthians 5:17). By the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus is revealed to us and in our lives (John 16:13-15; Galatians 1:16, 2:20; 1 John 3:24; Philippians 1:21). Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
