Email from Abiding Place Daily Bread – March 21, 2025 (The Sixth Day – Genesis 1:24-31) Philippians 3:9 – And being found in Him, not having my own righteousness from the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, righteousness by the faith from God. We Now Have The Righteousness of Christ Jesus Grace through righteousness now reigns through Jesus Christ. Sin reigned over our lives because of Adam’s transgression, but now through the obedience of Christ Jesus grace now reigns. God has extended to everyone the life and righteousness of Jesus. Through the disobedience of Adam, we all died; but now much more through the obedience of Christ Jesus, we are made alive. Through the disobedience of Adam, we were condemned to an eternity of sin and death; but now through the obedience of Christ Jesus, we are no longer under that condemnation. Through the disobedience of Adam, we were made sinners; but now much more through the obedience of Christ Jesus, we are made righteous. As many as will receive Christ Jesus are freed from sin and death and given the gift of righteousness. Sin and death has lost its power to reign over as many as are in Christ Jesus. Now, Adam’s death sentence is no longer upon us. The Son has set us free by His obedience and has made His righteousness our own. Because of Adam’s sin, we were made sinners and lived in that sin; but now through the righteousness of Jesus we are made righteous to live in His righteousness (Romans 5:19-21). When we were born again, God’s Own life came into us, and He now lives in us and walks in us (2 Corinthians 6:16; Leviticus 26:12; Jeremiah 31:33). The righteousness we now have in Him is His life imparted. It’s more than the righteousness that Abraham had because we have been born again. This righteousness is given to us as a free gift. Along with the gift came the ability to learn how to live out our lives in His righteousness, for we are now all taught of God (John 16:13-15, 14:17; 1 Thessalonians 4:9; 1 John 2:27). His righteousness goes far beyond the righteousness of the Law. This is the righteousness of Christ Jesus Who dwells in us. When Christ Jesus came into our lives, so did His righteousness. The righteousness of Christ Jesus now flows from the sweet fountain of His presence in our lives. Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
