Email from Abiding Place Daily Bread – May 19, 2025 (The Second Day – Genesis 1:6-8) Matthew 6:19-21 – Do not store up treasures upon the Earth where moth and rust will destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures for yourselves in Heaven where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves cannot break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be as well. Say with me, “My heart belongs to You, Lord.” The goodness and mercy of God has brought us into this relationship of love. Here, in His Presence, He shows us the paths of life, and we are filled with His joy and peace. In this communion with the Lord, the Holy Spirit overwhelms our affections and desires with these expressions of love and consecration to the Father. And as we walk with God, an ever- increasing hunger and thirst after righteousness floods our souls. Oh how good it is to know the Creator of all the lovely things we see – but with every passing day, we discover He is far more lovely still! So many seem to struggle with their relationship with God, but walking with God is the good life! Once you decide His ways are far better than that of a sin-cursed world, the struggle will come to an end. Once you lay hold on how much He really loves you, His love becomes irresistible. Our heavenly Father so delights in us that there is nothing He would refuse to give to those who walk upright (Psalm 84:11-12; Luke 12:32). When we decide to recognize His love and walk with Him, the struggle comes to an end. In His presence, the world will become a place that holds no attraction for us, and our heart’s delight is to do the Fathers will. God loves us so much He designed a life which goes on forever. This is what we have to look forward to – forever experiencing His love and goodness! With every passing day throughout eternity, we will be captivated by all those things we never realized the day before. Even today, you can begin to enjoy His abundant life more than ever. If you are willing, God will show His goodness through you, and because you are willing, the Father will show His goodness to you. As this change takes place, your workplace becomes something far more than it had ever been before. As you gain wisdom and insight, you realize the only interruption to this blessed life is any kind of fellowship with the world. Then, sin and its iniquity become the enemy of every good thing you know. Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
