Daily Bread – September 17, 2024 (The Third Day – Genesis 1:9-13) 1 Corinthians 14:6 – And now brethren, if I come to you speaking tongues, which of you will benefit unless I speak to you by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophecy, or by teaching? The Divine Order For The Church Those groups who refuse to have tongues, or who suppress the utterance of tongues in their meetings, don’t have much prophecy either. Rarely is there an interpretation, and in large part, there is a lack of signs, wonders, and miracles. They say they want everything to be “decent and in order”, but the question is what “order” are they looking for – divine order? In reality, anything going on in a Church service that is not under the direction of the Holy Spirit is out of order. If the order of the service does not result in the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, then there is an order problem (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). Everyone should be more concerned about what they don’t have that God actually demands, rather than a few expressions they don’t understand. There is no limitation to how much prophecy can take place in a meeting, as everyone may prophesy one by one (1 Corinthians 14:31). Our meetings need to change and be filled with the expressions of the Holy Spirit if we are going to function as the Church. The only issue of “order” Paul raises in 1 Corinthians 14 is that the Church service must not be a continual utterance of tongues with no interpretation. Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
