Daily Bread – April 5, 2024 (The Sixth Day – Genesis 1:24-31) Psalms 89:7 – God is greatly to be feared through the council of His holy ones, and to be feared by all who are around about Him. The Responsibility Of Being God’s Representatives The Holy Spirit desires to reveal the presence of a Holy God so that our assemblies would truly be sacred through the manifest presence of God’s holiness (John 16:14-15; Ephesians 1:22-23; Hebrews 12:22-24; 1 Peter 2:5). Such movings of God do not take place without the cooperation of His saints. The people of God are His representatives – those through whom the Holy Spirit moves. For this reason, they impact those things the Holy Spirit will do in any meeting. If the people of God are lukewarm, indifferent, and callous, there will be very little, if anything, of God’s presence manifested (Matthew 12:41; Luke 10:13). If the people are given to doubt and unbelief, there will be little display of the mighty works of God (Matthew 13:58; Mark 6:5-6). If strife and disunity or slander and divisions exist, these spiritual violations will allow every unholy thing to work (James 3:16; 1 Corinthians 3:3, 10:10; Galatians 5:19-21). Yet, if the people of God will cultivate hunger for the things of the Spirit and give themselves to do that which pleases the Lord, a mighty presence of the glory and power of God would be revealed as they yield to the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:53, 12:32; Psalm 107:9; Romans 6:13; Acts 2:1-4).
