Daily Bread – April 6, 2024 (The Seventh Day – Genesis 2:1-3) Psalms 89:7 – God is greatly to be feared through the council of His holy ones, and to be feared by all who are around about Him. Biblical Revival & The Holiness Of God A revival of the things we read about in the Bible takes place one heart at a time. A move of God begins with each person being stirred for that which only the Holy Spirit can produce. There is no blame or finger-pointing, but instead, a crying out for more and a deep heart of affection for the glory of the Lord to be revealed. Such thirst causes rivers to open up in the dry places and an abundance of spiritual rain from Heaven (Isaiah 41:17, 44:3, 55:1; John 4:14, 7:37-38; Joel 2:23; James 5:7). It makes the waste-places of our lives and communities like a fruitful Garden of Eden. The rivers from the Holy Place of God flow out of our hearts, and the Holy Spirit Himself joins in with His spiritual song. At the revelation of the glory of the Lord, His holiness is revealed (Isaiah 6:1-3). The holiness of the Lord brings conviction for sin since He alone produces the contrast (Isaiah 6:5; Job 42:5-6; John 16:7-11; Acts 24:25). In the beauty of His holiness, men fall down and repent, and by the power of God, they turn from their sins – despising every evil thing they have done and with singleness of heart, turn to serve the Living God. In the holiness of God, sin becomes exceedingly sinful, and God’s judgment against it is proven just. Men’s hearts are pricked, their secrets are revealed, and thereby, falling down, they confess that God is in their midst (Acts 2:37; 1 Corinthians 14:24-25). Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
