Email from Abiding Place Daily Bread – May 28, 2025 (The Fourth Day – Genesis 1:14-19) Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and unto the farthest reaches of the Earth. The Holy Spirit Given to the Church – Revealing Jesus Christ Jesus is certainly the head over the Church, but the Holy Spirit is Who brings everything that belongs to Christ Jesus and all that He is doing to the Church. The Holy Spirit came for the purpose of receiving all of the things which belong to Jesus and transmitting and revealing them to His Church and the individuals in the Church (John 16:13-15). It is the Holy Spirit Who both reveals Christ Jesus and glorifies Him. It is the Holy Spirit Who speaks the Word of God through us. It is the Holy Spirit Who brings to our remembrance everything Jesus said and is saying (John 14:26, 16:13). The Holy Spirit does not speak of Himself, rather He speaks through His servants the things He hears Christ Jesus speaking (John 16:13). The Holy Spirit is the Teacher. He is the One Who leads and guides and continues the work of Jesus. It was the Father Who told Jesus everything He was to do and say. Likewise, it is Christ Jesus Who now tells the Holy Spirit what to do and say, and the Holy Spirit Who then tells us what to do and say (John 3:34–35, 5:19, 7:16–17, 8:26, 28, 12:49–50, 14:10, 15:15, 16:14). As Jesus spoke nothing of Himself, even so the Holy Spirit speaks nothing of Himself. Also, as Jesus glorified the Father, now the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus (John 7:18, 13:31-32, 14:13, 17:4). The Holy Spirit searches out and knows the depths of all the things of God and reveals them to us (1 Corinthians 2:10-11). The Holy Spirit reveals these things of God to us and is also the One Who teaches us how to speak them and do them (1 Corinthians 2:13). He shows us what eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, nor has entered into the heart of men (1 Corinthians 2:9-10). It is God the Holy Spirit Who will reveal all the plans and purposes of the Father and Christ Jesus, “God has revealed them to us by His Spirit” (1 Corinthians 2:10). Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
