Email from Abiding Place     Daily Bread – May 29, 2025 (The Fifth Day – Genesis 1:20-23) Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and unto the farthest reaches of the Earth. The Holy Spirit Given to the Church – The Outpourings of God God has blessed us with an amazing gift by supplying both the leadership of the Holy Spirit and His ability to do the work of the Kingdom. Jesus said, “All that the Father has” has been given to Him. The context is all about what the Holy Spirit would receive and then teach us, “All that the Father has.” The Father, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit have come to dwell in us so that all the world may behold the family of God (John 14:20-23; Ephesians 3:16-20). He desires to show us “the breadth and length and height and depth” of all that Christ Jesus has won for us. He would cause us to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge so we might be filled with the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:18-19). “All that the Father has” is almost inconceivable and unimaginable! He’s given all His fullness, all His knowledge and wisdom, all His glory and power! All of these things are found in Jesus – knowing Him and receiving what He desires to give to us now in this life and in the one to come. This is the description of the glorious Church! What a great honor we have been given. In understanding the truth and reality of what we have been given, we come to value the great need for revival in the Church – the revival that brings us into all our inheritance in Christ Jesus; the revival that results in the moving of God in our midst. The outpourings of God come to us because we cry out to God for them. In the refreshing that comes to us by the Holy Spirit, God’s people are prepared to receive and operate in the gifts and workings of the Holy Spirit. He creates for us the atmosphere that empowers us to receive all the Holy Spirit desires to give to each person (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). The outpourings of God cause us to more perfectly recognize the leadership of the Holy Spirit and know how to move with Him. God empowers us to be more perfectly yielded to Him and rely on Him to do what He alone has the ability to do. Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
