Daily Bread – June 19, 2021 (The Seventh Day – Genesis 2:1-3) Romans 8:7 – In as much as fleshly thinking is opposed to God, for it is not subject to the Law of God neither indeed can be. God desires us to think in a totally different way than we have learned from our natural experiences. He desires us to believe and expect the supernatural things He has revealed to us in His Word. The things God desires us to think and do have not been revealed through man’s wisdom and experience. What God has for us cannot be received or accomplished through human insight and ability. Only by the Spirit are we able to do the things that please God. The things of the Spirit are so different from what human experience dictates that they are foolish to the man who only thinks in the realm of human ability (1 Corinthians 2:14). God desires to show us things by His Spirit which eyes have not seen, nor ears heard, neither have they ever entered into the heart (or thinking) of man (Isaiah 55, 64:4; 1 Corinthians 2). God operates in a spiritual unseen world from which the mouths of lions are stopped and the violence of fire has no power. This is the spiritual realm where Jesus our Lord turned the water into wine, walked on the water, and raised the dead. It is the realm of faith where righteousness is victorious over all sin and disobedience. The realm of the Spirit is the realm taught to us by the Word of God where we learn to be lead by the Spirit of God. Only in this realm can we please God. Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
