Email from Abiding Place     Daily Bread – June 6, 2025 (The Sixth Day – Genesis 1:24-31) Revelation 4:5 – And from the throne came forth lightnings and voices and thunders, and seven torches of fire burned before the throne which are the Seven Spirits of God. The Seven Endowments of the Holy Spirit – Quick Understanding The prophet Isaiah revealed the mystery of these seven spirits: “The spirit of wisdom, and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.” This would be the full endowment of the Spirit given to Jesus, which allowed Him to perceive things through the eyes of God. The person who possesses these seven was empowered to walk in judgment and righteousness (Psalm 72; Jeremiah 23:5–6). In this nature of the Spirit of the Lord, He had more than just the intellectual properties of a person, but He had Spirit knowledge which resulted in Him having a “quick understanding in the fear of the LORD” (Isaiah 11:2–3). We can group these attributes of the Holy Spirit into three groups: Wisdom and understanding Counsel and might Knowledge and the fear of the Lord Some of these divine endowments of the Holy Spirit are found in those anointed throughout the Bible. Both the wisdom of God and the understanding of God are each referred to over two hundred times in the Bible. Bezaleel was filled with the Spirit of God in wisdom and understanding (Exodus 31:3). God gave Solomom wisdom and understanding (1 Kings 4:29). Job said God is the One Who has “wisdom and strength, counsel and understanding” (Job 12:13). Wisdom and spiritual understanding fill the servant of the Lord with the knowledge of God’s will (Colossians 1:9). Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
