Daily Bread – September 18, 2023 (The Second Day – Genesis 1:6-8) Acts 9:34 – And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you – arise and make your bed!” And he rose up immediately. The Holy Spirit Reveals Jesus In Our Midst The Holy Spirit baptized Peter so he could have an extraordinary relationship with the unseen Jesus (John 14:18-19). Through this interaction with the unseen Jesus, signs and wonders were continuing to be done by Him as proof Jesus had been raised up from the dead. The same Jesus all men had come to know by the acts of mercy and love was still at work. As men were set free from their sin, sickness, and disease, proof was given that Jesus was alive and in their midst. Through the grace and activity of the Holy Spirit, they were able to interact with the unseen Jesus, and as they did, signs and wonders took place because Jesus was there. The message of the Gospel is not about an apostle, or anyone else who had received a gift of healing or miracles, but about the resurrected Jesus Who accompanied His disciples and could be recognized by His Presence and by the same miracles He had always performed. Today, God has anointed us with the same Holy Spirit so we may both know and dwell in Jesus (1 John 2:27, 4:13; John 15:5). The Holy Spirit has come to reveal Jesus to us, and as we interact with Him, the exploits of the Kingdom of God are manifested as Jesus is revealed (John 16:13-16). Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
