Daily Bread – November 17, 2023 (The Sixth Day – Genesis 1:24-31) Matthew 14:14 – And when Jesus went out, He saw a great crowd, and He had compassion on them and healed their sick. There are those who wonder why we should focus on miracles, failing to realize how a miracle is the provision for someone’s need. Our God is a God of love Who is moved with compassion and mercy towards the needs of humanity. The best one man can do for another is attempt to offer comfort and temporal relief in the time of need – but God comes with His miracle power of deliverance! We should recognize how the same God Who loves us also has the power to heal us. As much as He wants to communicate His love to us, He wants to communicate His healing power to every need. As freely as He gives His love to those who will receive it, even so, He will supply His healing power. Just as God’s love is supplied to us by Christ Jesus, so is His healing power. You cannot know God’s love and salvation until you know Jesus – neither can you know His healing apart from the ministry of Jesus. Jesus is the means by which all of God’s goodness flows out to a lost and needy humanity. Today, if we will come to Jesus, as they did then, we will discover He has the same compassion towards us – and the same power to heal us!
