Daily Bread – February 19, 2024 (The Second Day – Genesis 1:6-8) Psalms 11:7 – For YHWH (the LORD) the righteous loves righteousness, His face shall behold the upright. The Righteous LORD Loves Righteousness Our God is a God of righteousness and purity. He is a God of love and mercy. Although His eyes are purer than to behold evil, He has made a way for every evil person to be cleansed and become holy in His sight (Habakkuk 1:13; Psalms 101:4). Once we have been cleansed from our sins and delivered from our iniquity, we are responsible to live in righteousness and purity. God does not leave us to our own ability in order to do that which is pleasing in His sight, but empowers us with the Spirit of Holiness so we can walk in the nature of the Righteous One Who loves righteousness. His mercy towards all who trust in Him will not fail. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son for the redemption of everyone. Yet, the wicked who refuse to be changed are still far from Him and His face is against them (Proverbs 15:29). Ultimately, God will cut off all wickedness and it will never exist again.
