Daily Bread – February 20, 2024 (The Third Day – Genesis 1:9-13) Psalms 11:7 – For YHWH (the LORD) the righteous loves righteousness, His face shall behold the upright. The LORD Transforms Sinners Into Saints The blood of Jesus applied by the mercy of God is present to cleanse every person from their sins no matter how wicked they are (Titus 2:14; 1 John 1:7-9, 2:2; Revelation 1:5). The power of the Lord is present to save and transform anyone who will call upon the Name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 13:30; John 12:32; Titus 2:12; Revelation 22:17; Ephesians 4:24; 2 Peter 1:4; Titus 3:5). It does not matter how deep the sin or how evil the thing, God will have mercy. He will transform anyone who calls out to Him. He will change you from a sinner to a saint (Ephesians 4:24; Romans 1:7; 8:27; 1 Corinthians 1:2, 14:33; Ephesians 1:18; 1 Thessalonians 3:13). Ultimately, the Lord will cut off all those who continue to do that which is evil (Psalms 37:28; 2 Peter 3:10-13). God’s face is against those who do wickedly and that will never change (1 Peter 3:12; Psalms 34:15-16; John 3:36; Romans 2:5; Ephesians 5:6; Colossians 3:6). Some think this is Old Testament doctrine, but they are wrong – this is Who God is in the past, the present, and in the future. If we refuse the opportunity to get right and live right, then there is a certain judgment waiting. All we have to do is be willing to accept His mercy and agree that living in the ways of God, in His goodness and righteousness, is far better than living the life of sin and iniquity. Anyone who calls on the Name of Christ Jesus and makes Him Lord, He will come and deliver and fight for you – even as He died and rose again for you (Romans 10:9-10; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 3:9; 1 John 4:15; Hebrews 4:2).
