Daily Bread – April 8, 2024 (The Second Day – Genesis 1:6-8) Psalms 89:7 – God is greatly to be feared through the council of His holy ones, and to be feared by all who are around about Him. The Holiness Of God & Consecration To The Life Of Jesus In the Holiness of God’s presence, we become emboldened of who we are in Christ Jesus and our oneness with Him. The chief characteristic of the moving of the Holy Spirit is an awesome awareness of the holiness of God. In His presence every unholy thing is detested and hunger to please God becomes our passion. When the Holy Spirit is allowed free course in our meetings, then every hungry heart is filled with a resolve to fully follow Jesus. The Spirit of truth calls us to consecration – a consecration to live the life of Jesus. Consecration to the holiness God has given us becomes our greatest privilege, and being filled with the Holy Spirit, we rejoice in being set apart unto the holy things only belonging to God (1 Peter 1:15-16; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23). God the Holy Spirit produces in every heart a hunger for righteousness, and a deep desire to do that which pleases the Father (Psalm 143:6; John 7:37; Matthew 5:6; Romans 8:26). The Holy Spirit moves in our midst, setting us apart to the worship and service of God which becomes the delight of our souls. Through His divine power, our eyes and hearts are opened to experience the holiness of the Lord and His goodness extended towards us (Isaiah 6:2-3, 6-7; Hebrews 12:22). Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
