Email from Abiding Place     Daily Bread – July 4, 2025 (The Sixth Day – Genesis 1:24-31) 1 John 2:20 – And we have an anointing from the Holy One, and we know everything. The Foundation of the Written Word of God in Discernment The Lord has given us the ability to know what eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, and what the heart of man has never understood – all by the revelation of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:9-10) The Holy Spirit has come to lead us, guide us, teach us, and help us – we just need to learn to listen! The first and most important way in which the Lord speaks to us is by His written Word. It is from the Word we learn the ways of God and the rules of interacting with Him. Through the Word of God, everything that is taught must be proven. The Lord established His written Word before the ministry of prophets began, and then it was both by the Word and the accuracy of their prophecies that prophets were to be judged. Peter heard the audible voice of the Lord, but called the Word a more certain revelation (2 Peter 1:17-21). The Word of Scripture which testifies of Jesus, the Word of truth which He spoke, and the Spirit of Truth all testify of these things. Therefore, if we abide in the Word and His Word abides in us, we know everything Father requires of us. We know what is right and wrong, and we know who is of the truth and who is not. By the Word of God, we test every spirit, and judge between right and wrong teaching (1 Corinthians 14:29; Galatians 1:8-9; 1 John 4:1-6). Blessings, Pastor Mark Spitsbergen
